Jenna Mayhew (BA Psych Hons), Therapist and Cofounder

Jenna lives in Sydney, Australia. Jenna is a registered as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Lapidus Association: Words for Wellbeing


Jenna worked in the not-for-profit sector for seven years before moving abroad. Amongst other roles, Jenna provided clinical consultation, and supported clients with trauma, grief and loss, mood disorders and disabilities. 


Jenna relocated to London in May 2012, where she combined her clinical skills with her love of writing, and cofounded Write As Rain. Jenna developed and ran regular Therapeutic Writing group sessions across London; as well as providing counselling via email and VOIP (e.g. Skype) services.  
Mexico City
In early 2014, Jenna relocated to Mexico City, where she continues her work with clients online, including local expats and overseas clients. 
Sydney again! 
In early 2015 Jenna relocated back to her home city. Jenna provides online and phone counselling to individuals impacted by sexual assault and domestic violence (both recent and historic); and continues to provide counselling to a wide range of individuals who wish to harness the benefits of expressive writing. 
Jenna is passionate about the immeasurable benefits of reading and writing. She is a board member of Boku Heart Inc, an Australian charity that partners with grass roots education providers in Sierra Leone.

Caroline Macrory (MA Psych Hons), Therapist and Cofounder

Caz Headshot croppedCaroline studied psychology in the UK before moving to Australia and completing her qualifications to become a registered psychologist. She is a member of the National Counselling Society and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a psychologist. 

Caroline has gained invaluable experience working with a variety of client groups in both the UK and Australia, including children and young people living in residential and foster care, people with disabilities, individuals with a history of complex trauma and those experiencing mental health problems.

She has worked as an individual and group therapist, as well as delivering behaviour support services, assessment, clinical support and training.

Caroline has two young children and she has a particular interest in supporting women to tackle the myriad of challenges that often accompany motherhood, including finding the right balance between family and career. She advocates the importance of continuing to find time and space for personal reflection and mindfulness practise amidst the demands of family life.

Caroline is also passionate about volunteering, and worked in a Mother Teresa home in India supporting children and their families.

Vanessa Waddell BSc (Hons) Dip Couns MBACP (Accred), Therapist

Vanessa is an experienced therapeutic counsellor with a private practice based in Surrey, UK. In addition to face-to-face counselling, Vanessa specialises in remote therapy, supporting clients by telephone and Skype. As such she has worked with clients both in the UK and internationally. She is an accredited registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Vanessa has also worked in an agency setting at City and Hackney Alcohol Service and the Earls Court Community Project.  She has worked with a diverse range of clients with many different presenting problems including bereavement, identity issues, depression and eating disorders amongst others.  She has a special interest in helping women on the journey towards motherhood particular dealing with infertility and pregnancy loss.

Vanessa is very interested in reading and writing.  She enjoys keeping a personal journal and provides informal support on online forums.  She has personally benefited from the therapeutic value of writing and reading on an online forum when she went through a bereavement.

Vanessa is also keen on volunteering.  She has worked at a hostel for ex homeless young  people, done street outreach work with women involved in prostitution in the east end of London and more recently worked as a befriender with a young woman with Down’s syndrome.


Vanessa is not currently taking on new clients, however contact us to join a waiting list.
