The London Narcissistic Support Group (LNSG)
Write As Rain are pleased to be working with The London Narcissistic Support Group (LNSG), a peer support and a non-profit group that provides support to those affected by relationships with narcissistic personalities. We run regular writing therapy workshops for all new intakes to the group, as well as offering specialist therapeutic support to members. Social Arts for Education (S.A.F.E.)
S.A.F.E is a study centre for children who have been withdrawn from mainstream school due to bullying and/or other conditions such as autism, anxiety disorder and social phobia. It. is an invaluable resource for parents and young people for whom school is not the right setting. We are proud to provide our services to S.A.F.E. in the form of regular online individual therapy sessions. For both children struggling with social and/or relational difficulties and parents who may be overwhelmed by the additional needs of their children, online therapy can be a flexible, accessible and gentle medium for therapeutic support.
Write As Rain have collaborated with a number of projects over the past two years, including:
We have supported the development of an expressive writing workshop for the Recovery College of the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM). The Recovery College supports people with mild to moderate mental health needs and offers free short courses aimed at supporting both mental and physical wellbeing and increasing confidence. Our support included developing the structure and outline of the course, reviewing the content and providing guidance on risk management processes.
Last year we delivered a series of experiential lectures to students at Greenwich University on a range of topics including a reflexive approach to learning and an introduction to therapeutic writing in client work. We have developed a training package for university and college counselling students that can be tailored to meet individual needs and course requirements.
London South Bank University (LSBU)
Write As Rain delivered a number of four-part courses to students of LSBU. These courses focused on using expressive writing as a tool for managing university-related stress, including the mounting pressure right before exam time!
New Voices Wagon Project (NVWP) at the University of Leicester
NVWP supports mirgrants and refugees in England to use writing as a therapeutic tool, including processing their trauma histories by writing it down. Write As Rain has supported NVWP to incorporate clinically sound practice in their approach to work with refugees. This has included support behind-the-scenes, as well as a presentation on Expressive Writing to NVWP facilitators and participants.
